DIRECTOR’S PROFILE:

Holding Doctorate from Kanpur University, and having a teaching experience of more than 29 years, across countless batches, Dr. S.K. Agrawal has been imparting knowledge as well as values to his students, in his institution, Sky Academy, at Kanpur.
A post graduate in Commerce & B.Ed., Dr. S.K. Agrawal has been teaching accountancy to students of class XIth , XIIth at the grass-root level, CA- Foundation & CA- Intermediate.
After having taught for 10 years, Dr. S.K. Agrawal was one of the pioneers who envisioned the establishment of an academy exclusively dedicated to the field of commerce in 2006 in the city of Kanpur, which was since long recognized for being a science hub and for excellence in preparatory classes for medical and engineering examinations. Today Kanpur has gained recognition for deliverance of quality education in the field of commerce, especially in C.A. and a major credit for the same goes to Dr. S.K. Agrawal who through his unique vision has not only created a centre for learning but also for an overall mental, moral and social development of aspiring students at all levels.

His brain child- Sky Academy (Kanpur) established on 21 st August 2006, has established its mark in the field of education in U.P. as a premier institution to which students from not only within the city of Kanpur flock to but also students from other cities come to seek expert professional guidance and knowledge and be a part of this academy. Currently the Academy has a widespread student base spanning across many cities and states and many of its students are currently working not only as CA/CS/MBAs but also in other professions such as journalism, mass communication, print and electronic media etc, in politics and even engaged in business ventures and start-ups in India as well as abroad.
A powerful orator and profound writer, he has been inspiring his students as well as his colleagues in the teachers’ fraternity. He actively works for social causes with his team and encourages his students for the same and has been honoured by numerous organisations for his initiatives.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal, Director of Sky Academy, was awarded the prestigious Shiksha Bharati Puraskar on 11th May, 2012, at the 67th National Seminar on Globalisation of Indian Industries and World Peace, jointly organized at the Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi, by IEDRA (Indian Economic Development and Research Association) and AIAF (All India Achievers' Foundation), for his remarkable contribution in the field of education. This honour was conferred upon him jointly by the dignitaries- Dr. G.V.G. Krishnamurthy(Ex- Election Commissioner of India), Dr. Bhishma Narain Singh (Former Governor and Union Minister), Justice O.P. Verma (Former Governor & Chief Justice), His Excellency Samuel K. Mambo (High Commissioner of Namibia), Mr. Syed Rizvi (Former Governor of Jharkhand) , Major (Retd.) Ved Prakash (Secretary, All India Congress Committee) and Mr. Ranjan Oberoi (General Secretary, IEDRA).
He has been honoured by the Samajwadi Party in Kanpur for his service of imparting ethical education to the students, on 19th September 2012 in a felicitation program held on the occasion of "Shikshak divas".
Dr. S.K. Agrawal has been felicitated by the Deputy Chief Minister & Minister for Education for the State – Shri. Dinesh Sharma Ji at a program “शिक्षा एवं स्वास्थ्य मंथन” organized by News18 at Taj Hotel in Lucknow, for his noteworthy contribution in the sphere of education on 30th July 2019.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal has recently authored 3 more books relating to Accountancy for the students pursuing Chartered Accountancy Course, under the banner of Taxmann Publications, of which 2 books – “Principles and Practices of Accounting” for CA Foundation , “Accounting “ for CA Intermediate, were unveiled by The Rotary Club of Kanpur and its honorable office bearers & members, in March 2019, at Merchants’ Chambers, Kanpur.
His third book – “Scanner & Compiler for CA Foundation” co- authored with CA Manmeet Kaur, was unveiled by honorable Vice Chancellor, CSJM University, and Prof. Mrs. Neelima Gupta Ji at university campus, on 2nd September 2019, in the presence of the Registrar of Kanpur University and other eminent office bearers of the University.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal, was felicitated along with eminent personalities of Kanpur who have contributed significantly in the field of education, medicine, commerce, social services and the like by Prof. Neelima Gupta, V.C., CSJM University and eminent Rotarians, at a talk -show organized by Rotary Club & Rotaract Club of Kanpur, in CSJMU on the topic - “The Role of Culture, Education & Health in building New India”, on 26th September 2019
Dr. S.K. Agrawal, has founded The Rotaract Club of Sky Academy, Kanpur, with a view to materialize his vision of participation of Youth in Nation - Building.
He was felicitated with "Guru Dronacharya Samman 2022" by Prithvi Rangmanch, Kanpur, for his unparalleled contribution in the field of Education, on 17th March, 2022.
He has also been felicitated by Rotary Club of Brahamavarta, Kanpur, on 1st July, 2022, on the occasion of Doctors' & CA Day, for his outstanding service in the field of Education.

EXPERIENCE:

29+ years of teaching experience in Accountancy in I.S.C., C.A. & B.Com.
4 years' teaching experience in Accountancy in St. Aloysis School, Kanpur (1998-99 to 2001-02).
9 Years' teaching experience in Accountancy in St. Mary's Convent School, Kanpur (2002-2011).
Worked as Supervising Examiner in 2005 in St. Lawrence High School, Unnao.
Worked as Supervising Examiner in 2007 in Methodist High School, Kanpur.
Worked as Supervising Examiner in 2008 in United Public School, Kanpur.
Has been a member of management committee in St. Mary's Convent High School, Kanpur from 2006 to 2011 up to the date of voluntary retirement from the school.
Founder and Director of "Sky Academy"- a premiere institute for delivering of value based education in the field of accountancy and related courses in the commerce stream in Kanpur, ever since its establishment on 21st August, 2006.

SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS:

Dr. S.K. Agrawal has always participated actively in various social events at a personal level and also through the platform of Sky Academy. He is involved in promoting the socially beneficial cause of Eye Donation, initiated by Lion's Club, Kanpur and he himself along with the members of his family & Academy has committed to this noble cause.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal has always laid special emphasis on the cultivation of ethics and values amongst the students and has made endeavors to spread these values in the society. On the occasion of Basant Panchmi in Feb., 2013 Dr. S.K. Agrawal conducted the consecration of Saraswati ji in the Brahaspati Dev Mandir at Birhana Road to pay homage and also to infuse in the students humble devotion towards the Goddess of Knowledge and art.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal believes in equality of all religious faiths and as a step towards cultivating this value among the students of the Academy, he took the initiative of organizing an उर्स of Syyed Baba Jhangir,( whose mazar is located near Kalpana Plaza) bi-annually, starting from Feb 2014. Recently उर्स alongwith Langar, was organized on 5th March 2020 and was covered by the media as a novel step to spread communal unity. It is through such events that children learn the value of service & unity despite diversity of religion.
On the occasion of Childrens’ Day 14th November 2014, Sky Academy under the guidance of Dr. S.K. Agrawal along with his batch of CA Intermediate students and faculty members organized a visit to ‘Nirmala Shishu Bhavan’ managed by Missionaries of Charity to not only provide aid to the orphanage but also to spend time with the less privileged children.

21st August 2016, marked the 10th anniversary of Sky Academy. To commemorate the completion of 10 successful years of the establishment of Sky Academy, Dr. S.K. Agrawal, distributed T-shirts bearing the logo of Sky Academy, not only among the students of the academy, but also donated the same, to the city administration to be further distributed among the inmates of an old age home in Kanpur. D.M. Kanpur - Mr. Kaushal Raj Sharma, applauded the Academy for its contribution to social causes.
In an initiative taken by the Academy, the students of the Academy were inspired to collect and deposit old clothes from their households for the purpose of distribution among the needy. The academy under the leadership of Dr. S.K. Agrawal, not only collected large quantum of clothes and distributed among the needy but also collaborated with 'Kapda Bank'- an NGO in Kalyanpur to facilitate the distribution of clothes in the village areas. The Academy was honoured with an award by 'Kapda Bank', on 26th March 2017, as a recognition of the significant contribution made by team Sky Academy.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal is also an active member of the Shani Dev Mandir committee and has been appointed as the Chairman of Jan Sevak Kutumb Samiti. Both these committees are involved in several charitable and philanthropic activities such as setting up community kitchens & langars , setting up food bank ,organizing camps for free medical check up and eye-camps for cataract and other surgeries.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal and his team under the name of Rotaract Club of Sky Academy, held a blood donation camp successfully on 11th March 2020, in association with Rotaract Club of Kanpur. Through his words of encouragement & setting an example by donating blood himself, he was able to encourage 30+ of his students, all first time donors, to contribute to this noble cause.
He had contributed significantly in providing Lunch packets to the Doctors & Nurses at the LLR (Halet) Hospital, Kanpur, during the pandemic, in the name of Rotaract Club of Sky Academy, Kanpur.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal, worked actively for the poor and needy by participating in the initiative to supply free food by the "Jan Seva Kutumb Samiti" during the entire duration of lockdown by the Government.

Dr. S.K. Agrawal lays emphasis on the overall growth of the students in all spheres and he himself is a reflection of this thought:

(i) Best Actor Award in 1997 in the All India Drama Competition held in Rampur.
(ii) He was awarded the Best Actor award for a play titled “Promotion” organized by Rotary Club, Kanpur in 1997.
(iii) He was also awarded the best actor award in a leading role by Maharashtra Mandal for his play titled “Promotion”, in 1997.

He has been an ardent sportsman during his college years and represented his alma mater (Christ Church Degree College) as a captain of its Chess Team at State and District Level.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal has a forte' in writing and authored several articles in many renowned Newspapers like, Times of India, Jagran Josh and many others. His affinity for writing is evident also in prose and poetry that he composes in his leisure time.
He has authored a book titled "Problems and Solution in I.S.C. Accounting", published in year 2001 by - Newman Group of Publishers.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal has been approached by various publication houses of repute to write/edit books meant for academic and professional courses. He had edited the "CA CPT Question Bank " of Taxmann Publications which came into print and circulation in April 2014
Dr. S.K. Agrawal, is popular among his students for his oratory skills and has inspired many students with his motivational words. He was invited as a Special Guest & Eminent Speaker in a seminar on "New Generation - Attitude is Everything, Diversity Issue & Self- Presentation", organized by Rotaract Club of Kanpur at U.P. Stock Exchange on 9th March, 2016
Dr. S.K. Agrawal, along with his team at Sky Academy was invited to attend a talk show – Amar Ujala Samwad , hosted at PSIT on 26th March 2018, in the wake of upcoming elections, to discuss the issues & challenges faced by the state and the people at large.
Sky Academy under the guidance of Dr. S.K. Agrawal and in association with Rotaract Club of Kanpur, held program on Anti – Tobacco Day on 30th May, 2019, to spread awareness among the masses as to the harmful effect of tobacco consumption. The message was effectively conveyed by means of a variety of skits and nukkad nataks performed by students of Sky Academy.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal enjoys the reputation of being a well-informed educationist and is often invited to debates and talk shows held by various organizations & media centers. He was a guest speaker at one of the recent group discussions held in September 2019, by Amar Ujala Samriddhi Samwad, to discuss the early recessionary trends in the market and remedies for the same.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal was invited as a Chief Guest in a reunion program held at Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College , Unnao, on 19th January , 2020, to inspire the ex- students of that school through his words of encouragement and wisdom. The high point of the program was that he had been invited as a Chief Guest by his alma mater’s ( Pt. Deen Dayal Sanatan Dharam Vidyalaya) Ex - Principal, Acharya Shri Om Shankar Tripathi.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal, was invited as a Panel Expert & a Special Guest to grace the Finance Conclave held at the prestigious - Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Institute of Management & Research, Kanpur, on 17th September, 2022.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal was invited as a Judge, in 'Atal Bhashan Pratiyogita' , organised by Bhartiya Janta Party Yuva Morcha, at BJP, headoffice, Kanpur, on 8th January, 2023.
Dr. S.K. Agrawal has recently been nominated as one of the 5 members in the Electricity Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum, KESCO, Kanpur at the District Level.
